Feel the freedom of smiling with confidence thanks to the fast and easy solution of porcelain veneers. Whether it’s fixing small imperfections like stains and chips, to larger ones such as tooth gaps or cracked and worn-down teeth, we’re ready to help. Often patients feel these issues aren’t big enough to address when compared to other dental concerns, but once they learn how easy and painless they can be to correct, patients are shocked they didn’t try veneers sooner! At Long Island Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry, we have a team of dedicated cosmetic dentists who can show you how easy it is to craft the beautiful smile you’ve always wanted!
Porcelain veneers have a beautiful reflective quality that closely blends in with your natural teeth, in addition to being more stain-resistant than other veneer materials on the market. With proper care, your veneers can last up to 30 years, and are durable enough to allow you to eat and drink most foods without worry.
On your first porcelain veneer appointment, you can expect an in-depth consultation with your cosmetic dentists to discuss the areas in your smile that most concern you. Our experts are specially trained to identify problem areas and to recommend the best strategy for your treatment. An impression of your teeth will be taken to create a model and begin the process of crafting your individual veneers. The in-house lab is outfitted with 3D imaging and 3D printers, with which we personally oversee the creation of your veneers to ensure the best match.
A very thin layer of enamel is removed from the targeted tooth to accommodate your veneers. Color and shape are double-checked and if needed, the veneer is trimmed to ensure that it blends perfectly into your smile. The tooth is then polished and etched to ensure bonding between tooth and veneer. A light-activated resin is applied to both the tooth and the veneer, and your new smile is placed. Once your dentist is satisfied with the placement, a curing light is applied to the veneer, activating the bonding material and creating a solid attachment. Final adjustments are usually made to perfect the fit of your porcelain veneer, then your treatment is complete! Patients usually experience sensitivity to hot or cold after treatment, but this sensitivity typically dissipates after a few days.
